Setting the Scene...
Riding a six-game winning streak along with victories in 10 out of the last 12 contests, the Duke women's basketball team (17-10, 11-5 ACC) will head to Blacksburg, Va., to take on Virginia Tech (20-7, 10-6) Thursday, Feb. 27 at 7 p.m., in Cassell Coliseum.
The game will be aired live on the ACC Network Extra with Jon Laaser (PXP), Mack McCarthy (Color) and Evan Hughes (Sideline) calling the action. It will also be carried on the Duke Sports Network via WDNC AM 620, TuneIn app and www.GoDuke.com with Chris Edwards (PXP) on the air beginning at 6:45 p.m. (ET).
What is Next?...
Duke will close the regular season Sunday, March 1 at North Carolina with a 2 p.m., tip in Chapel Hill, N.C.
Three Keys...
1) In three career meetings with Virginia Tech,
Haley Gorecki has averaged 23.7 points, 8.7 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 1.7 steals.

Strength of Schedule...
The Blue Devils feature the eighth-toughest schedule nationally -- Oklahoma (1), Virginia (2), Auburn (3), Ohio State (4), Oregon (5), Oklahoma State (6), Oregon State (7), Duke (8), Maryland (9) and South Carolina (10) round out the top 10.
Duke's five non-conference losses in 2019-20 came against teams that have collected a combined 117-22 record.
The Blue Devils are currently ranked No. 25 in the latest RPI.
Storylines/Other Blue Devil Notes...
• Duke's win at eighth-ranked NC State was the first win over a top-10 team since Feb. 19, 2018 versus No. 9 Florida State (79-66). It was the first road win over a top-10 team since Feb. 2, 2015 at No. 8 Louisville (66-58).
• Over the last four games, sophomore
Onome Akinbode-James has averaged 7.8 points, 7.0 rebounds, 2.3 steals, 1.5 blocks and 1.5 assists. This included 12 points and six rebounds at NC State. It marked the first double-figure scoring game since Dec. 4 at Nebraska (13).
• Senior
Leaonna Odom has notched double-figure scoring in 11 straight contests, while averaging 15.5 points, 6.9 rebounds, 2.0 steals and 1.2 assists. She has hit 56.1 percent from the field during those games.
• Redshirt sophomore
Mikayla Boykin has averaged 5.3 assists over her last five games, while averaging 8.5 points, 2.0 rebounds and 1.3 steals. She has hit 53.6 percent from the field.

Haley Gorecki currently ranks first in the ACC with 153 made free throws and second with 178 attempts, while ranking third with an 86.0 free throw percentage. Her 153 free throws made ranks fourth nationally.
• Duke has won 10 out of the last 12 and eight out of the last nine contests.
• Duke blocked a season-high 10 shots against Virginia Feb. 20 and ranks fifth in the ACC (4.33).

Kyra Lambert has a three-pointer in a career-best nine straight games and has hit 15-of-35 (42.9) during that streak.

Haley Gorecki's 14 free throws made against Florida State was tied for the second-most in a game in Blue Devil history. The school record was 15 by Monique Currie (2006) and Nicole Johnson (1992).

Leaonna Odom have combined to average 33.5 points, 13.3 rebounds and 5.8 assists per game. Gorecki ranks second the ACC in scoring at 19.07 points per contest, just behind Virginia's Jocelyn Willoughby (19.53).
• In the ACC stats, Duke leads the league with 10.2 steals per game and ranks 33rd nationally.

Haley Gorecki averaged 36.0 minutes a contest last season and is averaging 36.2 minutes in 2019-20. She would become the first Blue Devil to average 35.0 minutes or more in back-to-back seasons.
• Duke trailed, 40-33, heading into the fourth quarter against Notre Dame and rallied for a 50-47 victory. It was the Blue Devils' largest comeback in the fourth quarter since the NCAA moved to the quarter system in 2015-16.
• For the sixth time this season, Duke had five players hit at least one three-pointer at Miami. Duke had not featured five different players hitting a trey since the 2014-15 campaign when it did it twice.

Leaonna Odom ranks third in the ACC in field goal percentage, at 54.0 percent per game.

The Series with Virginia Tech...
Duke and Virginia Tech will meet for the 30th time in school history with the Blue Devils leading the series 26-3.
In games played in Blacksburg, Va., Duke owns a 12-1 record, including wins in 13 in a row. Coach P has totaled an 18-2 record against Virginia Tech.
Last Meeting...
Behind a strong defensive effort down the stretch and a spark by redshirt freshman
Mikayla Boykin, Duke took down Virginia Tech, 72-67, on Jan. 12 in Cameron Indoor Stadium.
Boykin came off the bench to register a career-high 13 points, while dishing three assists and one steal in 22 minutes. Graduate
Haley Gorecki added a team-high 17 points and 12 rebounds for her fourth double-double of the season and 13th of her career.
The Blue Devil defense limited Virginia Tech to seven points over the final 12 minutes of play to give Duke the victory.
Virginia Tech received a late bucket from Aisha Sheppard to take a 51-50 lead into the fourth period.
The Hokies went on another run, 8-0, and led 61-52 with 7:16 left. Sparked by three straight buckets from Boykin, Duke went on an 8-0 run of its own to cut the Virginia Tech lead to 61-60 with 3:06 remaining.
After the Hokies took a 63-60 lead,
Miela Goodchild was fouled shooting a three-pointer and she hit all three to even the score, 63-63 with 1:34 on the clock. Elizabeth Kitley gave Virginia Tech a 65-63 lead and Duke called timeout with 30.3 seconds remaining down by two. Out of the timeout, Boykin drove to the hoop and dished to a streaking senior
Leaonna Odom for the game-tying field goal with 19.9 seconds left.
Virginia Tech missed two shots to win the game, but the contest went into overtime. It marked the first overtime game in Cameron Indoor Stadium since March 1, 2009 when the Blue Devils downed North Carolina, 81-79, to conclude the regular season.
After hitting a free throw to open overtime to put Duke ahead, 66-65, Odom fouled out at the 4:23 mark with seven points and two rebounds.
Boykin tied a career high with her 13th point at the 3:07 mark to give Duke a 68-65 lead. Gorecki added two free throws along with Kitley of Virginia Tech and Duke held a 70-67 advantage. A product of Palatine, Ill., Gorecki added another free throw and the Blue Devils led 71-67.
Duke finished the game with a season-high 39 points off the bench with Boykin (14),
Jade Williams (11) and Goodchild (14). After being limited to zero points in the last contest, Williams totaled 11 points, seven rebounds and a career-high five steals.
Another Impressive Mark...
Haley Gorecki is only seven points shy of reaching 500 for the 2019-20 season.
She would become just the sixth Blue Devil in school history to notch back-to-back 500-point seasons -- Alana Beard, Lexie Brown, Monique Currie, Chris Moreland and Jasmine Thomas.
Blue Devils Against the Hokies...
In three career games versus Virginia Tech,
Haley Gorecki has averaged 23.7 points, 8.7 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 1.7 steals. In her first two meetings, she totaled 28 points and 26 points, before collecting a double-double with 17 points and 12 rebounds last time out in Durham.
She has hit 11-of-20 three-pointers in the three contests and 54.5 percent from the field.
Miela Goodchild has averaged 13.5 points and 2.0 rebounds, while hitting 5-of-11 treys against the Hokies.
Mikayla Boykin notched 14 points and three assists in 21 minutes in her lone meeting with the Hokies earlier this season.
1,300 Points...
Haley Gorecki has become the eighth-quickest Blue Devil to notch 1,300 points. She accomplished this mark in 94 career games. The school record was 63 by Chris Moreland.

Turnarounds...
After opening ACC action with a 1-3 record, the Blue Devils have since won 10 out of the last 12 contests.
It is the best turnaround for the Blue Devils since 2017-18 when Duke opened 0-2 in the league and then won nine out of its next 11 contests. Duke finished with an 11-5 record in the ACC that season.
Moving Up Points List...
Leaonna Odom is currently in 18th place on Duke's all-time scoring list with 1,341 points and is 26 points from matching Haley Peters (1,367) for 17th.
Haley Gorecki (1,323) is just behind Odom, but has been gaining ground.
Williams Nets First...
For the first time in her three-year career,
Jade Williams totaled double-figure scoring in five straight contests, before notching four points at NC State

On the Road...
Duke has collected a 5-7 record on the road this season with four straight victories. It is the first time since the 2013-14 campaign the Blue Devils have notched four or more straight road league wins.
Haley Gorecki has averaged 17.0 points, 5.8 rebounds, 4.8 assists and 2.0 steals on the road this season.
Leaonna Odom owns averages of 13.7 points, 5.0 rebounds and 2.3 steals, including four games with 20 or more points.

In 2019-20, Gorecki has made 153 free throws, which ranks fifth on Duke's single season charts. She is 14 away from matching Katie Meier (167 in 1989-90. The school record is 201 by Alana Beard in 2002-03.
Leaonna Odom owns 577 made field goals and needs two to move into a tie for 10th on Duke's all-time charts.

Haley Gorecki was named one of 10 finalists for the Ann Meyers Drysdale Award recognizing the top shooting guards nationally.
Gorecki was also named one of 30 midseason candidates for the Citizen Naismith Trophy for Women's Player of the Year.

Haley Gorecki has come through big time in the clutch over her career and especially recently notching 20+ points in 40 minutes during top 15 wins over NC State and Florida State.

Haley Gorecki averaged 17.2 points, 3.9 assists, and 7.1 rebounds last year and is averaging 18.3 points, 4.3 assists and 6.6 rebounds this year.
