American countered less than two minutes later, netting their first goal at the 6:00 mark on an unassisted goal from Christine Fingerhuth to knot the score at one. Junior captain Brooke Patterson put Duke on top again with her first goal of the season 19:05 into the first half with an unassisted score. The Blue Devils led 2-1 at the half.
