SANTIAGO, Chile – The Duke trio of
Madison Beach, Abigail Gerdeman and
Shae Wozniak return to campus with some extra hardware after taking silver with the U-21 U.S. National Team at the 2026 Junior Pan American Cup over the weekend.
The United States fell to world No. 2 Argentina, 3-1, in the gold medal game. The red, white and blue earned a spot in the championship game following a shootout victory over Uruguay. The U.S. went 4-0-3 overall in the tournament with two of the setbacks coming against Argentina.
Beach started all seven games for the United States while Gerdeman and Wozniak came off the bench throughout the tournament. All three scored goals in the tournament with Beach netting two and Wozniak and Gerdeman tallying one apiece.
Gerdeman and Wozniak both earned their first caps at the Junior Pan American Cup, while Beach has now logged 18 with USA field hockey in international competition.
Beach returns to Duke for her junior season, while Wozniak is back after a stellar freshman campaign. Gerdeman officially joins the Duke True family in August as a freshman Blue Devil.
