EYE, EYE CAPTAIN
Graduate Student outfielder
Chris Davis has been a spark plug for the Duke offense, finding ways to get on base. Davis opened the season with just two hits in 19 plate appearances through the first four games but found ways to get it done with nine walks and an on-base percentage of .579.

WELCOME TO K-VILLE
The Blue Devil pitching staff has ascended to new heights over the past four seasons, shattering the school's single-season strikeout record in 2018 and 2019. Last season, Duke continued to strike out batters at record rates, fanning 527 batters in just 483.2 innings pitched. Now sophomore
Luke Fox led the team with 76 strikeouts in 56.0 innings pitched last season.

WELCOME BACK TO THE BALLPARK
After 712 days without fans at Duke baseball home games, the Blue Devils are ecstatic to welcome patrons back to Durham Bulls Athletic Park and Jack Coombs Field. The 712 day span was longer than three U.S. presidencies - Zachary Taylor, James A. Garfield and William Henry Harrison.
Â
UTILIZING THE LONG BALL
The Duke offense erupted last season, hitting 78 home runs in 55 games, including 12 games with three or more home runs. The 78 home runs ranked fourth all-time in program history and were the most since 1998. In addition, Duke's six home runs in the NCAA Regional game against Wright State were the most in the past 20 seasons.
Â
UNUSUAL PATH TO DUKE
Graduate student
Caleb McRoy joined the Blue Devils in January and had an unusual path to the Duke roster. No stranger to Durham, McRoy was a member of the North Carolina Central baseball program, but found himself looking for a new home after the school announced it would be discontinuing the program after the 2021 season. McRoy, a native of Raleigh, N.C., joined Duke, who he had faced four times in his career. Against the Blue Devils, McRoy allowed just one run on three hits and one walk while striking out 11 in seven innings of work.
Â
YOUTH ON DECK
The Blue Devils will feature a lot of new faces in the offensive lineup in 2022. Duke lost five of its eight starters in the field and its designated hitter. The Blue Devils will return less than half of its offensive production in multiple categories.

EYES ON MOONEY
Freshman shortstop
Alex Mooney will have many eyes on him during his first season in Durham. The highly touted prospect out of Rochester Hills, Mich., was tabbed the preseason ACC Freshman of the Year by D1Baseball, Baseball America and Perfect Game. He's a consensus top-10 prospect out of the ACC in the class of 2023 as he will be a draft eligible sophomore. After a slow opening day, Mooney has recorded three consecutive multi-hit games.
Â
HOME SWEET HOME
Graduate students
Chris Crabtree and
Wil Hoyle have invested blood, sweat and tears into the Duke program after seeing it develop in their backyards. Hoyle, a native of Durham, and Crabtree, a native of Bahama, are no strangers to the Duke program and grew up facing each other in high school baseball in Durham. Now, the duo are co-captains of the 2022 team after leading the Blue Devils to unprecedented heights during their careers.

K'S 4 KIDS' CANCER
Duke has partnered with the Duke Children's Hospital for the fourth consecutive season in the K's 4 Kids' Cancer campaign. Donors can pledge an amount of money to donate per strikeout that the Blue Devils pitching staff throws in 2022. So far, the partnership has contributed over $30,000 in support of the Duke Children's Hospital. Over the past four seasons, Duke has amassed nearly 1,900 strikeouts.
