Aidan Weaver came off the board in the eighth round of the 2026 MLB Draft, courtesy of the Athletics. Weaver was the 231st overall selection in the 20-round draft and became the fifth Blue Devil to be drafted inside the first 10 rounds of the draft across the last two years.

A senior anchor of Duke's pitching rotation, Weaver embraced the Friday starter role and made 14 starts in 2026. He led the team and set new career highs in innings pitched (65.0) and strikeouts (87), while securing four wins on the mound and posting a 6.37 ERA. Weaver opened the season with two runs across five innings against Maine and then logged back-to-back nine-strikeout outings the next two weeks against Milwaukee and Princeton. In conference play, Weaver highlighted his season with 11 strikeouts in two games, on the road at Florida State and at home against North Carolina. He also added nine punchouts in 5.1 innings of work against Virginia in the second round of the ACC Championship.
