DURHAM, N.C.
– Two juniors from the Duke field hockey team –
Tara Jennings and
Rhian Jones – are currently training with the USA U-21 Junior National Team as the squad embarks on a two-country European tour.
Last week, the team held two training sessions in Maryland prior to traveling to Dublin, Ireland over the weekend. After landing in Ireland Sunday, the squad faced off against the Irish Junior National Team at the University College Dublin National Hockey Stadium on Monday, March 21 and Tuesday, March 22.
After the two games in Ireland, the team will head to Monchengladbach, Germany to play three games against the German National Team. All three contests will be held at the Warsteiner Hockey Park, beginning Friday, March 25.
The schedule of team's matches is as follows, with all times listed in EST.
Monday, March 21 – 12 p.m. (4 p.m. local)
Tuesday, March 22 – 7 a.m. (11 a.m. local)
Friday, March 25 – 12 p.m. (5 p.m. local)
Saturday, March 26 – 12 p.m. (5 p.m. local)
Sunday, March 27 – 5 a.m. (10 a.m. local)
The USA Junior National Team is comprised of the top under-21 field hockey players in the country. The squad was selected at last year's Junior National Camp and recently completed a training weekend this past January at the Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista, Calif.
