DURHAM, N.C. – The Blue Devils hit the road Wednesday, traveling to Lynchburg, Virginia, for a single non-conference matchup with Liberty Wednesday, April 8. First pitch is scheduled for 3 p.m.
Duke carries a five-game win streak into the matchup after defeating Campbell, 7-1, in non-conference action Tuesday and sweeping No. 12 Virginia in a three-game ACC series. With the wins over the Cavaliers, the Blue Devils claimed their fifth straight conference series victory and second sweep of the season. Cassidy Curd earned two wins and a save in her three appearances over the weekend, moving her season ledger to 13-2. Her 13 wins sits third in the ACC and ranks 29th nationally.
The Flames (18-19) are coming off a 2-1 road series at Missouri State last weekend, outscoring the Bears 15-1 in a doubleheader sweep Friday after being shut out on Thursday. Sophomore Danner Allen tossed a five-inning no-hitter in game three of the series for Liberty's second no-hitter of the season. Classmates Ella Fox and Alexia Carrasquillo continue to power the Flames' offense this season, both batting .339 through 37 games. Fox leads in runs (28) and hits (39) while Carrasquillo tops the team in home runs (9) and RBI (30).

Duke leads the all-time series, 7-2, after meeting for the first time in 2019. The programs met in Durham a season ago with the Blue Devils collecting a doubleheader sweep over the Flames. Duke earned a 7-3 victory in the opening game before completing the sweep with a 3-2 win in the nightcap. The Blue Devils' offense was led by

Amiah Burgess hitting .500 during the two games. The trio also combined to account for six of Duke's 10 runs.
