QUICK HITS
- Duke hits the road for the second time this season, traveling to High Point for a midweek matchup on Tuesday, March 10. The Blue Devils and Panthers are set for the 30th all-time meeting between the two teams, with High Point holding a slight edge in the series, 15-14.
- Over the weekend, Duke and Notre Dame started the weekend with a win each, before the Fighting Irish took the rubber match on Sunday. The Blue Devils took home the win on Saturday after rallying for three runs in the bottom of the ninth, with Kaden Smith recording the walkoff hit.
- Smith made his Duke debut in the Blue Devils' series against Princeton, playing in two games after missing the first 12 games of the 2026 campaign due to injury. Smith led all of Division I in RBI last season at Charleston Southern, with 79 across 50 games played. The graduate student has quickly made his presence felt in the lineup, including leaving the yard on each of his first two Duke hits.
- Freshman RHP Jordan Regulski has been the consistent midweek starter for Duke, with his third career start coming last Tuesday, March 3, against Gardner-Webb. Regulski threw 3.2 innings, while recording his first two career strikeouts. The freshman scattered five hits and three runs during his longest outing of the young season.
- Muscara has emphasized the importance of getting Regulski consistent chances to toe the rubber as a freshman, citing the need to develop Regulski's raw arm talent for future seasons
- Second baseman RJ Hamilton also logged a milestone home run against Princeton, hitting the first of his career in the 8-7 loss against Princeton on March 1. After playing in only 13 games at Vanderbilt, all as a sophomore after missing his freshman season due to injury, Hamilton has been a steady presence on offense and defense for the Blue Devils.
- Hamilton has started every game at second base, committing just one error all season, good for a .984 fielding percentage. Consistently hitting second in the lineup, Hamilton recorded the game-tying RBI triple on Saturday against Notre Dame -- his third three-bagger of the season, tied for second-most in the country.Â
- Duke has broken ground on the David Koch Jr. Player Performance Center, the program announced on Feb. 26. The 8,000 square foot facility, designed by EwingCole and built by LeChase Construction Services, will feature a pitching lab, hitting lab, and training lab, with direct access to Jack Coombs Field. Duke student-athletes will be able to utilize several developmental technologies, including Trajekt, iPitch, NewtForce, Trackman and KinaTrax.
- Duke announced the hire of Mike Salvino as the program's general manager on Feb. 23. Salvino steps into the role with a goal of building championship teams while also mentoring student-athletes on how to grow their personal brands and prepare for professional careers beyond the game.
