GREENSBORO, N.C. – Duke softball remains undefeated in fall ball play after shutting out UNC Greensboro, 8-0, on Friday night.
Senior
Claire Davidson led the Blue Devils' offense against the Spartans, batting 3-for-4 with a double, walk and one RBI. Davidson also scored two of Duke's eight runs. Freshman
Amiah Burgess added to the score with a two-run blast, her first in a Blue Devil uniform. Seniors
Francesca Frelick and
Sarah Goddard also collected two RBI's each.
In the circle, sophomore
Cassidy Curd worked two innings and collected six strikeouts, while classmate
Sophie Garner-MacKinnon followed with four strikeouts in her two innings of work. Graduate transfer
Dani Drogemuller and seniors
Jala Wright and
Lillie Walker also saw action in the circle and contributed to the shutout.
Duke concludes the fall ball slate at home this weekend, hosting Tennessee on Saturday (Oct. 21) and North Carolina A&T on Sunday (Oct. 22).
