DURHAM, N.C. – The Duke volleyball team (8-7, 6-4 ACC) is set for three conference matches in four days as it welcomes Miami, No. 19 Pittsburgh and Boston College to Cameron Indoor Stadium.
The Blue Devils will take on the Hurricanes on Friday at 4:30 p.m., before a 1 p.m., showing against the No. 19 Panthers on Sunday. Duke closes out the busy weekend Monday against Boston College at 1:30 p.m. All three matches will be streamed on ACCNX.
LAST TIME OUT
Duke dropped two decisions to No. 13 Louisville over the weekend. Setter
Alex Springate dished 28 assists in Sunday's contest and is averaging 22.7 assists/game this spring. Ranked second in the conference in hitting percentage, the Cardinals (9-2, 7-2 ACC) put up big numbers offensively as they hit a whopping .365 percent for Saturday's match. Louisville leads the ACC in blocks and tallied 14 Saturday for 9.0 total team blocks.
A CLOSER LOOK AT THE SERIES
Miami: Duke leads the all-time series 17-10 against Miami but in its last meeting in 2019, the Hurricanes picked up a 3-1 victory in Cameron Indoor Stadium.
Pittsburgh: Pittsburgh has been a dominant force in the ACC in recent years and owns an 11-8 lead in the series with Duke. The Blue Devils have lost three straight and most recently in 2019 fell 3-0 on the road on Nov. 19.
Boston College: Duke holds a strong 21-2 series record against the Eagles but in 2019 Duke snapped an eight-match win streak against Boston College with a 3-1 loss in Chestnut Hill, Mass.
SCOUTING OUR OPPONENTS
Miami: Miami enters the weekend 8-4 and 7-4 in ACC action and is led by Elizaveta Lukianova with 209 kills and an impressive .289 hitting percentage. In the conference, the Hurricanes rank fourth in hitting percentage (.258), third in assists (12.76/set), fifth in kills (13.54/set) and second in aces (1.52/set).
Pittsburgh: The Panthers are tabbed No. 19 in the country with a 9-4 and 8-4 ACC record this spring. They are led by Kayla Lund with 170 kills and Chinaza Ndee with 136 and a whopping .291 hitting percentage. Setters Lexis Akeo and Kylee Levers split time and have dished 263 and 206 assists, respectively. Pitt leads the ACC in assists (13.26/set), and is second in kills (14.23/set) and blocks (2.57/set).
Boston College: The Eagles have struggled this season with a 1-9 and 0-9 conference record. They are led by Clare Naughton with 96 kills, while setter Sophia Lambros has 152 assists to her name.

Duke enters the weekend ranked third in the conference in total digs with 869 and 15.80 digs/set average.

BLOCK PARTY MOVES TO THE SPRING
Duke's block has continued to be a strong point of emphasis through 2020-21. Duke owns 127.0 total team blocks for a 2.31 blocks/set average. The Blue Devils' best middle blockers from the 2019 season continue to make an impact this year as
Lily Cooper and
Lizzie Fleming combined for 107 blocks and 11 solo.
Rookie
Georgia Stavrinides owns 38 blocks (1.00 blocks/set) while sophomore
Lizzie Fleming has 54 (1.00 blocks/set) followed by Cooper (53, 0.96),
Ade Owokoniran (34, 0.62) and
Gracie Johnson (27, 0.50) to round out Duke's blocking presence.
SETTIN' IT UP
Duke has split time between two setters this season with junior
Alex Springate and sophomore
Camille Nazor.
Springate has dished 327 assists for a 6.06 assist/set average while Nazor has 150 to her name. This spring, Springate is averaging 22.7 assists/match.
