GoDuke.com and @DukeMGOLF will run a series of features on the favorite holes for each member of the Duke men's golf team. The players and coaches were asked to pick the three favorite holes they've ever played and provide a scouting report on how best to attack them. Be sure to check @DukeMGOLF on Twitter on Instagram each Thursday to cast your vote on each of our players' dream holes!

Assistant coach
Bob Heintz is up next in the Dream Course series, as the former PGA Tour pro spans the globe for his three favorite golf holes. Heintz begins with the par-3 ninth at his alma mater's course -- the Yale GC, before bouncing over the Atlantic for one of the most iconic pieces of property in golf -- the first and 18th holes at the Old Course at St. Andrews. Heintz wraps his his favorite holes with maybe the toughest par-4 on the PGA Tour -- the 16th at Innisbrook's Copperhead Course.
Heintz's #1 Favorite Hole: 9th hole at Yale GC (New Haven, Conn.) – 201 yards – Par 3

In Heintz's words: "This par-3 can play from 170-235 yards long, as the the entire green length is nearly 70 yards deep. As you can see, there is a massive depression in the middle of the green, basically a ditch which collects many errant shots. Two putts are a challenge from the depression, and missing short or right from the tee is inexcusable and devastating. This is a penal par-3 and a designer would be blasted for creating a hole like this in the modern age."
Heintz's #2 Favorite Hole: 1st/18th holes at St. Andrews Golf Links -- Old Course (St. Andrews, Scotland)
In Heintz's words: "Sharing a fairway that is massive and very flat, these tee shots can actually be nerve wracking because it would be embarrassing to miss the biggest fairway in the world! Both holes can yield birdies, however, as long as the golfer successfully navigates the Swilcan Burn which guards the front of the first green. Just a classic place in golf history."
Heintz's #3 Favorite Hole: 16th Hole at Innisbrook Resort -- Copperhead Course (Palm Harbor, Fla.) -- 458 yards -- Par 4
In Heintz's words: "This is a vicious hole requiring precise shots from the tee and on approach to the green. Skilled players must choose either a lay up from the tee with a 3- wood or long Iron, leaving a long Iron shot to a small, severely sloped green. Or they can choose Driver to thread the needle between pine trees left and hazard right, gambling to earn a shorter shot to the well-protected green. This hole is frequently pivotal during tournaments at Innisbrook. It is a brutal test."
