QUICK HITS
- The 2026 season begins with Duke welcoming Maine to Jack Coombs Field for a four-game set. Head coach Corey Muscara will make his Duke debut after being announced as the Blue Devils' 26th head coach in program history on June 19, 2025.
- Muscara, known as "Moose" around the program, brings 15 years of collegiate coaching experience to Durham, including the last four seasons as an assistant coach at Wake Forest.
- Duke's staff is rounded out by Scott Loiseau (associate head coach), Matt Wessinger (hitting coach), Will Craig (recruiting coordinator), Sean Fisher (player development), Sean Coveny (analytics) and Mickey Bassett (baseball operations).
- The 2026 roster has been completely revamped, with only one position player in the starting lineup from Duke's final game of 2025 remaining (Tyler Albright) and only seven total pitchers returning.
- Albright will anchor left field for the Blue Devils, coming off a junior season where he hit .298 with 10 doubles, 10 home runs and three triples.
- Duke's transfer hitters are highlighted by Michael DiMartini (Dayton) and Cider Canon (Davidson), who were named First and Fourth Team Preseason All-America, respectively, by NCBWA. DiMartini projects as Duke's starting centerfielder after hitting .403 in 55 games for the Flyers, with 14 home runs, 65 RBI and an 1.150 OPS. Canon, who played in the outfield for Davidson, but slots in primarily at catcher for Duke, hit .371 in 48 games last season, posting 17 home runs, 52 RBI and an 1.193 OPS.
- Transfer arms to watch include Matt Nochowitz (Cortland), Ben Dean (Dayton) and Aiden O'Connell (Vanderbilt). Nochowitz pitched two seasons at Cortland, and started in eight of his 13 appearances last year, finishing with a 3.80 ERA and a 5-0 record. Dean made 21 appearances as a true freshman for the Flyers, while logging a 3-3 record and 32 strikeouts in 25.2 innings. O'Connell, a redshirt freshman, made one appearance for the Commodores last season, throwing 1.0 inning.Â
