DURHAM, N.C. – Duke softball head coach
Marissa Young announced the Blue Devils' fall schedule Friday morning. Duke will play seven exhibition games across a six-week span throughout North Carolina.
The Blue Devils open the fall slate Saturday, Oct. 4, welcoming Charlotte to Duke Softball Stadium for a 1 p.m., matchup.
Duke then hits the road for three straight road games against Appalachian State (Oct. 11), NC State (Oct. 17) and East Carolina (Oct. 18).
The Blue Devils return home to host Queens Oct. 25 with first pitch slated for 12 p.m. The next weekend, Duke welcomes Walters State (Nov. 1) and Elon (Nov. 2) at 12 p.m. and 1 p.m., respectively.
The fall slate wraps up with the Blue and White World Series Nov. 6-8 at Duke Softball Stadium. First pitch on Thursday and Friday is set for 4:30 p.m., while Saturday is scheduled for 12 p.m.
Young returns 12 letterwinners from last year's squad that compiled a 41-18 overall record and earned the program's fifth-consecutive bid to the NCAA Softball Championship. The Blue Devils also welcomed 10 newcomers in transfers
