QUICK HITS
- For the first time in program history, Durham, N.C., and Jack Coombs Field will host postseason baseball. Duke was awarded the host site of the Durham Super Regional after Murray State defeated the 10th-national seed Ole Miss twice and ACC Regular Season Champions Georgia Tech, to punch its first ticket to Super Regionals in program history.
- Head coach Chris Pollard has now led the program to four Super Regional appearances and a record seven NCAA Tournaments.Â
- Graduate third baseman and Durham native, Ben Miller, continues to make history in a Duke uniform, as he collected his 20th home run of the season against Georgia to give Duke the lead in the top of the third inning. With his 20th, Miller becomes the third player in program history to hit 20-plus home runs in a single season, as well as moves into a tie for fifth all-time with Jeff Becker (1996-00), who hit 35 during his time at Duke.
- The Blue Devils secured their 40th win in 2025 in dramatic fashion, sweeping the Athens Regional with a come-from-behind victory over Oklahoma State. It marks the second consecutive 40-plus win season, the first time to record 40-plus wins in back-to-back years, while marking the third in program history, all under Chris Pollard.
- Four Blue Devils were honored following the 2025 Athens Regional Championship game, earning spots on the All-Tournament team. Sophomores Kyle Johnson, Sam Harris, and Macon Winslow all were tabbed, while senior Wallace Clark took home shortstop honors as well as being named Most Outstanding Player.Â
- Duke returns to the friendly confines of Jack Coombs Field for the first time in the postseason, looking to officially break the program record for wins at home. The previous best was set in 1994, when the Blue Devils won 29 games, a mark the 2025 club has already tied.
- Two wins separate Duke baseball and a trip to Omaha, something head coach Chris Pollard has been working towards with his program since he arrived on campus. If accomplished this weekend in Durham, it will snap a 64-year drought, sending Duke to its fourth College World Series in program history and first in the modern era.Â
