DURHAM, N.C. – Coming off a win and second-place finish to cap the fall campaign, the Duke women's golf team is prepped for the 2025 spring opener, which will take place Feb. 2-4 at the PDI Intercollegiate – Hosted by UCF. The event will be contested at the Eagle Creek Golf Club in Orlando, Fla.
Seeing action this week will be Baylor, Augusta, College of Charleston, Louisiana Monroe, Central Arkansas, Central Florida, Tulsa, Old Dominion, Kansas, Nebraska-Lincoln, California State University in Sacramento, North Carolina, Indiana, Penn State, South Florida, Mississippi State and Duke.
All teams will play 18 holes each day with a shotgun start on Tuesday in the final round.
Duke is set to travel a lineup of senior
Rylie Heflin, sophomore
Katie Li, junior
Andie Smith, freshman
Anna Cañado Espinal and freshman
Carla De Troia. Blue Devil rookie
Martina Yu will also compete as an individual.
In the latest Scoreboard rankings, which is powered by clippd, Duke is ranked No. 18 nationally with Smith (#33) and Li (#58) in the individual ledger. Both Smith and Li own one victory each over their careers with Smith recently capturing the Tar Heel Invitational in the fall. Li won the Florida State Match-Up last spring for her first win.
With the team win last October in Chapel Hill, Duke head coach
Dan Brooks now owns 144 all-time victories, which continues to lead all NCAA coaches.
Duke previously competed in the UCF Challenge back in 2009, 2008, 2007 and 1993 with the Blue Devils taking first place in both 2007 and 2008 with 4-under-par and 13-under-par scores, respectively.
Amanda Blumenherst shot an 11-under, 205, in 2007 to win the individual title, while
Alison Whitaker turned in an 8-under, 208, in 2008 to hoist the trophy.
