DURHAM, N.C. – Duke women's golfers
Rianne Malixi and
Andie Smith will head back to Augusta, Georgia, this spring as the Blue Devils accepted an invitation to compete in the 2026 Augusta National Women's Amateur (ANWA) from April 1-4.
The event is set to take place April 1-2 at Champions Retreat Golf Club and April 4 at Augusta National Golf Club.
Smith will see action for the second year in a row, while Malixi will play for the first time after having to withdraw in 2025 due to a back injury.
Beginning the week prior to the Masters Tournament, an international field of 72 women amateurs will compete over 54 holes of stroke play. A cut will take place after 36 holes, advancing the leading 30 players to the final round at Augusta National Golf Club. In the event of a tie after 54 holes, the winner will be decided by sudden-death playoff.
The first 36 holes will be contested over two days on the Island and Bluff nines at Champions Retreat Golf Club in Augusta, Georgia. The entire field will then play Augusta National for an official practice round Friday, April 3. The final round will take place at Augusta National on Saturday, April 4 and will feature the top 30 competitors who made the cut.
In the latest Women's Amateur Golf Rankings (WAGR), Malixi is ranked No. 23 and Smith is No. 47.
Over the seven years of action, Duke will now have 23 spots taken up by Blue Devils that will compete with the other top amateur golfers in the country.
