DURHAM, N.C. – With the 2025 season just around the corner, Duke softball will begin its campaign ranked in the top 10 of all four major preseason polls.
The Blue Devils checked in at No. 7 in the NFCA/GoRout and
D1Softball polls, No. 8 according to
SoftballAmerica and ESPN.com/USA Softball.
With the rankings, the Blue Devils have earned a spot in the top 25 of all four preseason polls for the fourth time in the program's eight-year history.
Duke is coming off its strongest campaign in 2024, setting a program record with a 52-9 overall ledger, capturing its second ACC Championship, third straight NCAA Super Regional appearance and advanced to the Women's College World Series for the first time.

Duke opens the season in Clearwater, Fla., playing in the NFCA Division I Leadoff Classic Feb. 6-9 at the Eddie C. Moore Complex. The Blue Devils highlight the field as the lone 2024 Women's College World Series participant with Missouri and Tennessee making Super Regional appearances. Duke will face Penn State (Feb. 7), Mississippi State (Feb. 7), Missouri (Feb. 8), Northwestern (Feb. 8) and Kentucky (Feb. 9) during the four-day showcase.
