DURHAM, N.C. – The Duke softball program and head coach
Marissa Young announced its schedule for fall competition on Thursday afternoon.
Duke will play nine exhibition games in a five-week span across North Carolina and South Carolina.
The Blue Devils open the fall slate Saturday, Oct. 5, welcoming East Carolina to Duke Softball Stadium for a 1 p.m., matchup. Duke then hits the road for a doubleheader in Conway, S.C., on Sunday, Oct. 13, facing host Coastal Carolina at 12 p.m., and Francis Marion at 2:30 p.m.
Duke returns home to host Appalachian State on Saturday, Oct. 19 with first pitch slated for 12 p.m. The following day, the Blue Devils travel over to Elon to face the Phoenix at Hunt Softball Park at 1:30 p.m.
The next weekend, Duke welcomes Walters State for a single-game contest Friday, Oct. 25, before hitting the road again on Saturday, Oct. 26 to take on ACC foe NC State in Raleigh.
The fall slate wraps up with a pair of intersquad scrimmages on back-to-back days at Duke Softball Stadium. The Blue Devils will compete in Blue and White Scrimmages Nov. 1 and Nov. 2 at 6 p.m., and 12 p.m., respectively.
Duke saw its strongest campaign in 2024, setting a program record with a 52-9 overall ledger, capturing its second ACC Championship, third straight NCAA Super Regional appearance and advanced to the Women's College World Series for the first time in program history.
Young returns 11 letterwinners from last season and welcomed seven newcomers in freshmen
