DURHAM – Duke track and field returns to postseason action this week as the Blue Devils gear up for the NCAA East Regional, hosted by the University of Kentucky, from May 22-25 at the Outdoor Track and Field Facility in Lexington, Ky.
The Blue Devils qualified 39 individuals across 24 track & field events, with the 26 women and 13 men seeking advancement to the NCAA Outdoor Championships slated for June 5-8 in Eugene, Ore., at Hayward Field. This week's competitors are looking to join senior
Brianna Smith, who already punched her ticket to the national meet via the heptathlon.
The regional features qualifiers with the top-48 marks in the nation (following injury or withdrawal), with the only exception being the top-24 times for relays and direct qualification for the top-24 in multi-events (heptathlon and decathlon). The top-12 from each event in the East and West regionals will advance to the national meet.
