QUICK HITS
- The Blue Devils have continued to pounce on opponents like they did throughout the season in 2023. Duke has recorded 266 of its 433 runs so far this season from the fourth to the eighth innings. That number accounts for 61.4% of the Blue Devils' run production.
- After breaking the freshman RBI record held by Joey Loperfido, rookie AJ Gracia set the new freshman home run record on Saturday against Georgia Tech. Held by Andrew Fischer, who hit 11 in 2023, Gracia crushed a two-run home run to center field to put the nail in the coffin in Saturday's come from behind 14-10 victory. The Monroe, N.J., native has now produced 51 RBI this season and continues to extend the record down the stretch.
- Zac Morris lead the team with 27 two-out RBI this season, as the Blue Devils have tallied 129 as a collective unit. The 129 runs account for 29.7% of Duke's scoring this season.
- Senior Alex Stone has earned the nod as a "second half player" throughout his career at Duke. Stone has produced a .373 average at the plate (38-for-102) collecting 12 doubles, five home runs, 34 RBI, five walks and eight hit by pitches over that stretch. He holds a .637 slugging percentage and has an on base percentage of .440 since flipping to the second half of the year. In his three-home run weekend, Stone moved into third place all time on the career home runs list at Duke, passing Scott Pinoni (1992-94) with his 38th big fly in a Blue Devils' uniform.
- The Blue Devils improved to 16-1 on the season when scoring 10-plus runs in a game, scoring 14 against Georgia Tech on Saturday afternoon in Atlanta. The squad also collected their fourth 20-plus run game of the year, scoring 23 against Longwood in game one of the double header a few weeks ago. Duke was 18-0 last season when scoring 10-plus runs and 4-0 in the ACC.
