DURHAM – Duke women's lacrosse welcomes Pittsburgh to Koskinen Stadium on Friday for a 4 p.m. opening draw. The contest was moved due to potential inclement weather in the area on Saturday.
Last Time Out
Fourth-ranked Syracuse jumped out to an early 6-0 lead en route to a 15-8 victory over Duke in ACC women's lacrosse action last Saturday afternoon at the JMA Wireless Dome.
Caroline DeBellis led Duke (4-5, 0-2) with two goals and two assists, while Katie DeSimone had two tallies. Syracuse used the 6-0 run to start the game and another 5-0 spurt spanning the second and third quarters to earn the win.
Scouting the Panthers
The Panthers come into Friday's game 2-5 overall and most recently dropped a 20-17 decision at Liberty on Wednesday evening. Pitt is 0-3 on the road this spring.
Offensively, the Panthers are led by Jenna Hendrickson with 22 points by way of 15 goals and seven assists and Sydney Naylor (17 points). The Panthers boast four players with 10 or more draw controls and are led by Jill Fenech with 39 to go along with six ground balls and four caused turnovers.
Goalie Audrey Moran has started in all seven games this spring and owns a 13.73 GAA and a .395 save percentage between the pipes.
Series History
Duke and Pitt meet for the third time in program history as the Blue Devils have won the two prior meetings and are 1-0 in Durham.
