Two Blue Devils to Serve on 2026-27 ACC SAAC

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Duke women's lacrosse goalkeeper Cameron Christie and men's soccer goalkeeper Nathan Gaviser have been announced as representatives on the Atlantic Coast Conference Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) for the 2026-27 academic year.

Christie, from Arnold, Maryland, is entering her fourth season as a Blue Devil. She was named to the ACC Academic Honor Roll in 2024, 2025 and 2026 and earned a place on the IWLCA Academic Honor Roll following the 2026 campaign. She has yet to appear in a game at Duke.

Gaviser will be in his fourth year with the men's soccer team this fall. An Edgemont, New York, native, he is a three-time ACC Academic Honor Roll selection. He appeared in two matches during the 2025 campaign and started one contest. In his career, he has experienced action in four games, totaling nearly 127 minutes and has not surrendered a goal.

ACC SAAC representatives play an important role in bridging the gap between administrative personnel and the student-athlete body both at their respective institutions and throughout the conference. The committee is designed to incorporate ideas and opinions from student-athletes into legislative decisions that will affect our academic and athletic pursuits. These athletes are developing valuable leadership skills as they address changes in rules and regulations, organize community service events, and build a positive image for collegiate athletes.
