QUICK HITS
- Duke is one of nine programs to make the NCAA tournament five times, appear in three Super Regionals and win a conference championship over the last seven seasons. The Blue Devils join LSU, ECU, Ole Miss, Vanderbilt, Stanford, North Carolina, Arkansas and Tennessee.
- Current single season appearance program record holder and graduate transfer Charlie Beilenson has started the 2024 season as the work horse out of the bullpen for Duke once again. Beilenson has already appeared in three games, earning a save in all three contests. This mark is on pace to break both the appearance record of 39 times from last season and also break sophomore James Tallon's single season saves record of 12, which he accomplished in his freshman campaign.
- Five Blue Devils extended their hitting streaks to four games on Wednesday against Liberty as Ben Miller, Logan Bravo, Zac Morris, Wallace Clark and Tyler Albright all registered a hit in the Duke victory. Additionally, 10 different Blue Devils have an active hitting streak heading into the weekend.
- The name of the game is scoring first and scoring in bunches for the Blue Devils. Since 2016, Duke has compiled a 176-57 (.755) record when scoring first and a staggering 187-40 (.823) record when scoring three or more runs in an inning.
- Duke baseball begins the 2024 season 4-0 for the first time since 2019, after raising eyebrows across the country at the Baseball at the Beach Tournament. Duke defeated Indiana in the season opener, before hanging 23 runs on George Mason in the middle game. On Sunday, Duke handled host and regional championship rematch No. 18 Coastal Carolina, to sweep the tournament. The 2019 team went on to win the first six games of the season, before falling to Northwestern on Sunday.
