HIGH POINT, N.C. - Senior attacker Katie DeSimone tallied her 200th-career point as she helped lead No. 24 Duke to a 22-14 win at High Point Sunday afternoon.
DeSimone was stellar offensively for the Blue Devils today as she reeled in seven goals and four dimes for 11 points. She becomes just the 11th player in Duke history to reach 200 points for her career and the first to do so since Kyra Harney (2015-18). She owns 143 goals and 58 assists for 201 points.
In addition to DeSimone, Duke saw an offensive explosion as 14 different Blue Devils registered at least one point while Katie Keller also had a hat trick in tying her career high of six points with five goals and an assist. Keller also grabbed three caused turnovers and three ground balls.
Defensively, Duke was led by Lexi Schmalz with a career-high four caused turnovers and a ground ball.
How It Happened
- Duke got the scoring started early as Keller found the back of the net just 30 seconds into the contest, connecting on a free-position shot. Keller sparked seven unanswered goals as Duke led 8-1 following the first 15 minutes of action.
- Duke's offense capitalized on several player-up opportunities today, including Keller and Maddie McCorkle's goals to start the second quarter.
- The Panthers strung together four goals to pull within six (11-5), but Duke continued its strong play with four goals from four different Blue Devils to take a 15-6 lead at halftime.
- Duke tacked on four more goals in the third frame to take a commanding 19-9 lead after 45 minutes of action.
- High Point's offense started to come together with five unanswered goals to pull within seven (19-12), but the deficit proved to be too much to overcome for the Panthers.

- Duke moves to 1-1 on the year.
