DURHAM – With the 2023 ACE Program complete, student-athletes who participated in ACE in Costa Rica shared their final reflection blog posts on their summer experiences.

"I am incredibly grateful for the Rubenstein-Bing ACE program for providing me with this experience of a lifetime. The friendships made and memories created will stay with me forever. Even more importantly, the valuable lessons learned in sustainability will be implemented into my everyday life. ACE has taught me that as a community, we have the power to make a difference. The small daily conservation efforts from the locals in Gandoca add up over time to make a tremendous difference. By applying the same effort at Duke, we can make a positive impact in the local community." Read more.

"ACE in Costa Rica was an answered prayer you needed to help in the development of yourself. It is exactly why you are open-minded to whatever unfamiliar land exists. An unfamiliar country heals you in ways you never knew existed because the realm of opportunities are endless to help discover different layers of you. It is the reason why you are so keen to travel with loved ones so they can find new versions of themselves. So future self, please continue to travel the entire world.
