Upcoming Event: Women's Golf at Landfall Tradition on October 23, 2026

10/20/2026 9:13:00 AM | Athletics
Athletic gear has the power to make an impact long after the final whistle. Through the Devils Doing Good Gear Drive, Duke Athletics is collecting new and gently used athletic apparel, footwear, bags and sports equipment to support local youth athletes and community organizations throughout Durham and the Triangle.
Whether it's a pair of cleats, a team backpack, a training shirt or sports equipment collecting dust in a closet, your donation can help create access to sport for someone else while keeping valuable materials in use and out of the landfill.
As a thank-you, all donors will be entered for a chance to win unique Duke fan experiences and exclusive Blue Devil prizes.
Join us at one of our collection events and help us give gear another game.
We are accepting:
Please ensure all donated items are clean and in usable condition.

Give Your Gear (and Electronics) Another Game
Head to K-Ville before tipoff and join us for a fun way to make a difference.
Clean out your closet and donate gently used athletic apparel, shoes, bags and sports equipment through the Devils Doing Good Gear Drive.
Got old electronics sitting in a drawer? Bring those, too. Our friends at Triangle E-Cycling will be on-site to demonstrate how electronics can be responsibly recycled instead of ending up in the trash. From old phones and chargers to laptops and tablets, learn how giving materials a second life goes far beyond athletic gear.
Whether you're donating a pair of cleats or finally parting with that drawer full of old cords, every item helps reduce waste, support our community and keep valuable materials in circulation.
Collection location: K-Ville
Give Gear a Second Chance. Wear the Story Forward
In recognition of Cancer Awareness Night, Duke Athletics is partnering with Say the Thing to showcase how apparel can be a canvas for both personal expression and positive impact.
Stop by the Say the Thing pop-up to screen-print a custom design inspired by resilience, hope, awareness and the natural beauty of our local environment. Shirts will be available while supplies last, or fans can bring their own shirt to receive the design.
By reusing existing apparel, you're helping extend the life of clothing while creating something meaningful you'll wear long after the match.
While you're there, participate in the Devils Doing Good Gear Drive by donating new or gently used athletic apparel, shoes, bags or sports equipment. Your donation will help local youth athletes access the gear they need while keeping valuable materials in use and out of the landfill.
Collection location: Skandalaris Entrance
Since its launch by Duke student-athletes in 2023, the Devils Doing Good Gear Drive has collected and recirculated more than 2,000 items, giving athletic gear a second life and keeping valuable materials out of the landfill.
Every year, clothing, shoes, equipment and electronics are discarded long before they've reached the end of their useful life. The Devils Doing Good Gear Drive helps change that by making it easy to donate, reuse, repair, repurpose and recycle. Through partnerships with local nonprofits, schools, community organizations and recycling programs, donated items are redirected to people and programs that can put them to good use.
More than a collection drive, the initiative serves as a reminder that small actions can create meaningful impact. By extending the life of our gear and resources, we can reduce waste, support our community and advance a more circular future.
Your donation can help equip a young athlete, support a community organization, provide resources for a student abroad or be transformed into new products and materials. Whatever its next destination, your gear can continue making an impact long after it leaves your closet.
