LYNCHBURG, Va. – Junior
Jay Beshears hit a two-run home run in the top of the seventh inning, as Duke's (16-9) pitching no-hit Liberty (11-13) over the final seven innings of play to down the Flames, 7-3, on Tuesday night in Lynchburg, Va.

Adam Boucher recorded his first win of the season in relief, working one inning of no-hit baseball and striking out a pair. Freshman
James Tallon tallied his fifth save of the season, closing out the final two innings and striking out three.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Liberty jumped out into the lead in the bottom of the first inning with a two-out single to right field, 2-0.
- The Blue Devils responded in the top of the second inning, as Giovanni DiGiacomo singled to first base to score Alex Stone and Tyler Albright and level the game, 2-2. MJ Metz gave Duke the lead the next pitch, singling to center field, 3-2.
- The Flames tied the ballgame in the bottom of the second with a RBI groundout to shortstop, 3-3.
- Junior Jay Beshears broke the tie in the top of the seventh, hitting a two-run home run to left field, 5-3.
- Junior Alex Stone added some insurance for Duke in the top of the ninth, doubling to right center field, 7-3.
NOTES
- As a team, Duke has collected 56 doubles this season, as Alex Stone and Fischer added to the tally.
- Freshman Andrew Fischer extended his on base streak to 21 games Tuesday, while extending his 21-game hitting streak to five games with his double in the seventh inning.
- Junior Jay Beshears hit his seventh home run of the season, tying Fischer for the team lead. He also extended his hitting streak to seven games with the big fly.
- Graduate transfer Giovanni DiGiacomo collected his fifth multi-hit game of the season on Tuesday, finishing 2-for-4 with a pair of singles.
- Freshman James Tallon secured his fifth save of the season, working two innings and striking out three batters.
- The win against Liberty in Lynchburg, Va., was the first for Duke since 2021, ending a five-game losing skid against the Flames.
