DURHAM – Duke Baseball (2-2) continues their 18-game home stand to begin the 2023 season with a three-game set against the Baylor Bears this weekend at the Durham Bulls Athletic Park. The Bears (2-2) head to Durham for the first time in the short series history, leading the all-time tally 4-1, all in Waco, Texas. First pitch on Friday is scheduled for 4 p.m.
Fans attending the weekend series against the Baylor Bears are encouraged to arrive early to avoid traffic in the American Tobacco Campus area due to other events.

- Sophomore Alex Mooney has reached base safely in 20 of his last 21 contests, dating back to the 2022 season. To begin the 2023 season, Mooney has tallied a four-game hitting streak and recorded his first multi-hit contest of the season on Wednesday against Liberty.
- Friday marks the first meeting in Durham between the Duke Blue Devils and Baylor Bears. The previous five matchups have been played in Waco, Texas with the all-time series record going to the Bears 4-1.
- Duke Baseball has collected 55 strikeouts through the first four games of the season, the highest tally since the 2019 campaign. The mark is ninth in the country entering the weekend and is second in the ACC. Wake Forest currently leads the country and the ACC in strikeouts with 68.
- Graduate transfer MJ Metz continues to be a tough out for the Blue Devils at the plate. Metz paces the Duke offense with a .444 average at the plate, scoring five runs and walking a team-high 6 times. He has added one hit by pitch and two extra-base hits.
- Southpaw Jonathan Santucci will look to build off his solid opening day start against Saint Joseph's, where the sophomore fell one strikeout short of his career high in a game with nine. Santucci allowed two hits and worked four innings in the Blue Devils season opener.
