Two Blue Devils had milestone days as the 11th-ranked Duke women's lacrosse team captured an 18-9 victory over Davidson Wednesday evening in Davidson, N.C.
Olivia Carner and
Maddie Jenner reached the 100-point threshold in the victory, becoming the 35th and 36th Blue Devils in program history to reach the milestone. Three Blue Devils —
Carly Bernstein,
Anna Callahan and Jenner — registered hat tricks in the victory while
Katie DeSimone led team in points with five (2G, 3A).
SCOUTING GARDNER-WEBB
Gardner-Webb is 0-1 in the early spring as it dropped a 20-9 decision to Cincinnati in its season opener. Gardner-Webb is led offensively by Bria Foley with four points from three goals and an assist while defender Grace Briggs has five caused turnovers to her name. Goalie Danielle Burke gave up 20 goals in cage against Cincinnati for a 20.00 team goals against average.
KIMEL NETS 300TH-CAREER WIN
Head coach
Kerstin Kimel registered her 300th-career victory on February 7, 2020 -- a 22-7 victory over the Runnin' Bulldogs. At the time, she became just the seventh active Division I coach to reach the threshold. To date, Kimel's 334 career victories rank fifth among Division I active coaches.
