Scouting Syracuse
- Syracuse returns home to open conference action this weekend with the Blue Devils. The 10th-ranked Orange are coming off a 1-1 weekend that included a 5-1 setback to No. 17 Princeton. Quirine Comans and Charlotte de Vries headline the offense with 17 and 15 points, respectively. The pair ranks third and ninth nationally in scoring, respectively, while Syracuse features the nation's second-ranked scoring offense at 4.33 goals per game.
- Defensively, the Orange are anchored by sophomore goalie Brooke Borzymowski and junior back Eefke van den Nieuwenhof. Both were preseason All-ACC picks and have helped Syracuse hold opponents to just seven goals overall, five of which came from Princeton. Orange opponents are averaging just 6.50 shots per game and only three on frame.

Scouting Colgate
- Colgate is 2-4 overall this season with two games on the slate for this weekend. The Raiders are led on offense by Dani Palmer's three goals and seven points. Colgate is averaging just 1.67 goals per game and 7.3 shots per outing and has seven different players with a goal.Â
- Raider goaltender Anna Unger captured a Patriot League Goalie of the Week award after corralling 15 saves and a .800 save percentage in a weekend against Bryant and Lock Haven. Unger has started all six games and sports a 3.04 goals against average and a .644 save percentage. Rachel Alderfer has three defensive saves on the year to lead the charge defensively.

- Duke heads into its ACC opener looking to pick up its first ACC win since April 10, 2021 against Louisville. The Blue Devils are 3-3 and ranked 18th overall following their 1-1 weekend. Duke has a depth of talent offensively with multiple players capable of finding the back of the cage. Six different Blue Devils have scored this season with Issy Carey and Hannah Miller leading the way with three points apiece.Â
- The Blue Devils have been dangerous in the circle, earning 39 penalty corners. Duke is third in the league with 6.5 penalty corners per game and continues to work toward capitalizing on those scoring opportunities.
- Defensively, the Blue Devils have an entirely new backline and is bolstered by the experience of graduate student Raphaelle van de Walle from the Netherlands. Senior Mary Harkins and sophomores Shelby Bumgarner and Megan Maransky will look to build off their experiences this past spring as they take over starting roles this year. In goal, Piper Hampsch is second in the ACC with a 5.17 saves per game average. She is fourth in the conference with a .705 save percentage.
