EUGENE, Ore. – Duke track and field continues postseason competition this weekend, as the Blue Devils get set to compete in the 2022 NCAA Outdoor Championships, hosted by the University of Oregon June 8-11 at Hayward Field in Eugene, Ore.
The Blue Devils will be represented by a program-record 16 student-athletes, four men and 12 women, in nine events across the four-day national meet.

How They Got Here/What to Watch For:
- The Duke men commence competition for the Blue Devils on Wednesday as Scott Campbell, Nick Dahl, Erick Duffy and Luke Jackson gear up for the semifinal and final of their respective events.
- Dahl opens action Wednesday at 4:46 p.m. PT, in the 1500m semifinal. He punched his ticket to the NCAA Outdoor Championships with a strong performance at the East Regional, leaving no doubt as he clocked the fourth-fastest overall time of the field at 3:39.78 to earn an automatic qualifier.
- Duffy gets going shortly afterwards in the pole vault final slated for 5 p.m. PT. Duffy booked his ticket to Eugene following another steady performance in the pole vault. The North Andover, Mass., native cleared the first two bars on his first attempt before finishing with a final clearance of 5.29m (17-4.25 feet).
- Campbell and Jackson cap the Wednesday Duke events as the duo take the field for the javelin at 5:45 p.m. PT. Jackson delivered a clutch, personal-best performance on his third attempt as he launched the javelin 70.54m (231-5 feet), good for eighth overall among the field.
- Campbell finished 11th to secure his spot at nationals, getting it done with a 69.55m (228-2 feet) toss.
- Women's action kicks off Thursday with the semifinals of the 4x100m relay, as the quartet of Halle Bieber, Abby Geiser, Kelcie Simmons and Chyler Turner hit the track at 5:32 p.m. PT. The group ran 44.20 seconds on the final day of the regional meet to advance to nationals.
- The 3,000m steeplechase semifinal begins 30 minutes later, where junior Emily Cole will represent the Blue Devils. Cole punched her ticket to Eugene with another strong performance in the event at the East Regional. Keeping the magic going, she finished second in her heat and secured an automatic qualifier slot behind a 10:01.37 finish.
- Dana Baker takes part in the lone field event of the day for Duke in the women's javelin. The senior delivered a clutch performance at the East Regional as she made her last throw her best and launched the javelin 50.74m (166-6 feet) to move up the leaderboard and punch her ticket to the national meet.
- The 16th-ranked Duke women close the Thursday evening slate with a trio of track events – the 400m hurdles (7:30 p.m. PT), 10,000m (8:08 p.m. PT) and 4x400m relay (8:48 p.m. PT).
- At the East Regional, Lauren Hoffman broke her own school record in the 400m hurdles for the third time this season and locked down her spot for the NCAA Outdoor Championships via another dazzling display that saw her clock a personal best of 55.91 seconds – the third-fastest time of the 24-person field.
- Graduate student Michaela Reinhart keeps her outstanding season going as she gears up for the 10,000m final. Reinhart produced a phenomenal 10,000m race at the regional meet, securing her spot to Eugene with a run of 34:21.45, which was the third-fastest among the field.
- The quartet of Bieber, Hoffman, Carly King and Megan McGinnis will comprise the women's 4x400m. Duke's relay earned its spot at nationals with a season-best time of 3:33.32 to earn an automatic qualifier spot.
- Multis athletes Erin Marsh and Isabel Wakefield get set to take part in the heptathlon scheduled for Friday and Saturday. The pair commence the multi event Friday afternoon at 1 p.m. PT with the 100m hurdles, followed by the high jump (2 p.m. PT), shot put (4 p.m.) and 200m (7:43 p.m. PT).
- On Saturday, Marsh and Wakefield close the heptathlon events with the long jump (11 a.m. PT), javelin (12:15 p.m. CT) and 800m (4:43 p.m. PT).
- The Duke duo earned automatic qualification to the NCAA Outdoor Championships as each notched top-24 national marks in the heptathlon.
- Marsh owns the third-highest point total of 5,946 points, improving her own school record by 22 points on the way to earning the gold medal at the ACC Outdoor Championships. She'll look to improve on her runner-up finish in the pentathlon at the NCAA Indoor Championships as well as her fourth-place finish at last season's NCAA Outdoor Championships.
- Wakefield checks in at No. 6 nationally after registering 5,850 points at the Texas Relays, a mark that ranks third all-time at Duke.
