Prior to Duke: A javelin thrower from Olathe, Kan. … attended Olathe North High School, where she was a three-time state Class 6A champion as part of her undefeated prep career in the javelin throw … won the American JavFest with a throw of 55.11 meters … earned a bronze medal at the IAAF World U20 Championships – the first World U20 medal of any kind for a javelin thrower from the United States, male or female … was recognized as the top-ranked girls’ javelin thrower in the nation by Track & Field News, after being ranked second during her junior year on the All-America list.
