DURHAM – The Duke diving team is set to take on the 2022 Zone 'B' Diving Championship, which runs March 6-9 at the McAuley Aquatic Center in Atlanta, Ga.

BLUE DEVILS COMPETING:
Nine Blue Devils are set to represent Duke at the meet. On the women's side, freshman
Margo O'Meara and junior
Ali Watson are set to compete in all three events – the one-meter, three-meter and platform. Junior
Kate Mullin and seniors
Maddy Pfaff and
Maddi Pullinger will compete in the one- and three-meter competitions. Sophomore
Emily Rakestraw will compete in the platform event with O'Meara and Watson.
A trio of Blue Devils will represent the men at Zones. Senior
Harel Anolick and sophomore
Seamus Harding Jr. will compete in all three events while junior
Jonah Cagley is set to dive the three-meter.
HOW TO QUALIFY:
The top finishers in Zone B will earn qualification to the NCAA Championships in less than two weeks. On the women's side, the top 10 performers in the one-meter and three-meter diving will qualify, while nine spots will advance in platform diving. For the men, eight and 11 divers will advance in the one- and three-meter competitions, respectively, while seven divers will qualify in platform diving.
STELLAR ACC MEET:
O'Meara highlighted the week by being named the ACC Championship Women's Diving MVP taking gold in both the one-meter (354.75) and platform diving (324.95) events. The St. Louis, Mo., native also placed fourth in the three-meter competition with a score of 367.10. She is the fourth Blue Devil to earn the honor, joining
Evan Moretti (2019),
Abby Johnston (2010, 2011) and
Nick McCrory (2010, 2011, 2013, 2014).
The program's success didn't stop with O'Meara, as Harding Jr. earned his first career All-ACC honor as he placed second in platform diving and reached the finals of the three-meter diving. In addition, Watson joined O'Meara in the finals of the three-meter and platform events.
