Margo O'Meara and senior
Maddi Pullinger earned qualification to the 2022 NCAA Championship after strong performances in the one-meter competition to open the 2022 NCAA Zone 'B' diving Championship Sunday at McAuley Aquatic Center in Atlanta.
O'Meara placed fifth in the one-meter competition with a score of 627.85, followed by Pullinger in sixth with a score of 580.20. The top 10 divers in the event earned qualification to the NCAA Championship.
Pullinger will make her third appearance at the NCAA Championship, having competed in one-meter diving at the 2019 and 2021 NCAA Championships. O'Meara will make her first appearance.
Eight Blue Devils are set to compete on Monday at the Zone Championship. On the women's side,
Kate Mullin,
Maddy Pfaff,
Emily Rakestraw,
Ali Watson, O'Meara and Pullinger will take on the women's three-meter diving. The preliminaries are set to begin at 3:15 p.m. with finals slated for 6 p.m.
Prior to the women's three-meter competition, the duo of
Harel Anolick and
Seamus Harding Jr. will open their weeks at the Zone Championship in the one-meter event. The preliminaries and finals are set for 11 a.m. and 1:15 p.m., respectively.
