RJ Schreck is finding his footing, after missing the opening week of the season. Schreck has shown strong plate discipline as of late, having not struck out in his last five games (16 at-bats). Over the last 10 games, Schreck has had 30 at-bats with only two strikeouts, additionally he has walked seven times, the second most on the team in that span behind
Chris Davis who has been issued eight free passes.

JOHNSON'S BIG DAY

Trevor Johnson earned his first career start in game three against Virginia and made the most of the opportunity. Johnson, son of former big leaguer Mark Johnson, finished 3-for-3 with four RBIs, all coming from extra base hits. A pair of doubles matched his career high, while the solo home run in the first inning was his first home run since against Brown April 13, 2019.

Duke ranks seventh in the ACC in doubles with 36. Junior
Graham Pauley leads the team with seven, ranking third in the conference. Most recently, junior
Chad Knight recorded three doubles against UMass Lowell on March 9 to become the first Blue Devil to hit three in a single game since March 2016.

Junior right-hander
Marcus Johnson is beginning to settle into his role as the Friday night arm for the Blue Devils. After a rough opening day, Johnson was stellar on the hill against Bucknell. The Fontana, Calif., native boasted 12 strikeouts in six innings of work to earn the win. The 12 strikeouts were the most since Bryce Jarvis' 15 Ks against Cornell in February of 2020.

EYE, EYE CAPTAIN
Graduate student outfielder
Chris Davis has been a spark plug for the Duke offense, finding ways to get on base and showing some pop. Davis put together back-to-back games against East Carolina and Bucknell in which he hit home runs on the first pitch of the at-bat. Also, Davis has been extremely effective in getting on base, boasting 17 walks to rank 14th nationally. The outfielder also tallied his 100th career hit against UMass Lowell on March 8.

SEIDL'S STELLAR START
Junior right-hander
Billy Seidl has been electric to open the 2022 season. After coming out of the bullpen throughout his career, the Wellesley, Mass., native has shifted into a starting role. Seidl opened the season without allowing a hit in the first 10.0 innings pitched and currently carries a .088 opponent batting average. In addition, Seidl has tallied 23 strikeouts and has allowed just 2.45 hits per nine innings, ranking second nationally.

DUKE x MORGAN'S MESSAGE
Duke Baseball and the non-profit organization Morgan's Message will team up during Saturday's home game against North Carolina to bring awareness to behavioral health within the student-athlete community. The Blue Devils will don stickers on their batting helmets with the Morgan's Message logo in addition to wearing bracelets with the organization's mantra – "taking a shot at mental health."

K'S 4 KIDS' CANCER
Duke has partnered with the Duke Children's Hospital for the fourth consecutive season in the K's 4 Kids' Cancer campaign. Donors can pledge an amount of money to donate per strikeout that the Blue Devils pitching staff throws in 2022. The partnership has contributed over $30,000 in support of the Duke Children's Hospital. Over the past four seasons, Duke has totaled 1,900+ strikeouts.
