Duke continues its 15-game homestand as it welcomes West Virginia to Durham for a midweek matchup. First pitch is slated for 4 p.m. on Tuesday. The Blue Devils hold an edge in the all-time series, leading 9-3. The two teams most recently met in 2019 in the final game of the Morgantown Regional, as the Blue Devils edged the Mountaineers, 4-0. JOHNSON'S BIG DAY

Trevor Johnson earned his first career start in game three against Virginia and made the most of the opportunity. Johnson, son of former big leaguer Mark Johnson, finished 3-for-3 with four RBIs, all coming from extra base hits. A pair of doubles matched his career high, while the solo home run in the first inning was his first home run since against Brown April 13, 2019.

Duke ranks tied for third in the ACC in doubles with 35. Junior
Graham Pauley leads the team with seven, ranking second in the conference. Most recently, junior
Chad Knight recorded three doubles against UMass Lowell on March 9 to become the first Blue Devil to hit three in a single game since March 2016.

RJ Schreck have shown their power and look to continue it in the 2022 season. Both Blue Devils hold 20 career home runs and rank tied for 17th all-time in program history. Should either replicate the production they saw in 2021, they will jump into the top five in program lore.

Duke's incoming class of 12 freshmen and four graduate transfers were tabbed ninth by Baseball America, the highest ranked class in program history. Freshmen

K's 4 KIDS CANCER
Duke has partnered with the Duke Children's Hospital for the fourth consecutive season in the K's 4 Kids' Cancer campaign. Donors can pledge an amount of money to donate per strikeout that the Blue Devils pitching staff throws in 2022. The partnership has contributed over $30,000 in support of the Duke Children's Hospital. Over the past four seasons, Duke has totaled 1,900+ strikeouts.

POLLARD ELECTED TO ABCA EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE
Duke head coach
Chris Pollard was elected the Division I Chair on the Executive Committee of the American Baseball Coaches Association. Pollard, entering his 10th season as the head coach of the Blue Devils, was elected by his peers on Jan. 6 at the NCAA Div. I Coaches Meeting at the 2022 ABCA Convention held in Chicago. He succeeds Florida Atlantic's John McCormack.
