Michael Sowers have been selected Duke's PNC Achiever's Student-Athletes of the Week after their grand performances led the Blue Devils to victories this past week.Â
Putting together a 6-for-15 performance with two home runs and seven RBIs, Kavel led the Blue Devils to a series sweep over North Carolina, including the first series win in program history against the Tar Heels, this past weekend. She tallied two multi-hit games in the series, including a 3-for-4 day on Sunday with three RBIs.

The Duluth, Ga., native came in clutch for the Blue Devils, hitting a two-run walk-off single to secure a 4-3 victory in game one and blasting a two-run home run to knot the game at 2-2 in the series finale.Â

Duke softball's (34-10) next game is a midweek contest against Campbell (20-13) on Wednesday, May 5, at 6 p.m.Â
Sowers led the Blue Devils to a 13-12 overtime win over No.2 Notre Dame on Thursday, April 22.Â

The Dresher, Pa., native spearheaded Duke's incredible overtime comeback win over No. 2 Notre Dame with four goals and an assist for five points. Sowers scored the team's final two goals in a span of 20 seconds to tie the game and force overtime.Â

The Tewaaraton nominee dished out the assist for the game winner in overtime. Sowers registered three of his four goals in the second half as Duke trailed, 7-3, after the first half. It was Sowers' eighth outing with at least five points and his seventh hat trick. He is the leading scorer on the team with 60 points.

Duke men's lacrosse (12-1) will travel to Chapel Hill Sunday, May 2, where it will take on the North Carolina Tar Heels (10-2) at 4 p.m.Â
