DURHAM, N.C. – The Duke softball team checked in at No. 9 in the first RPI of the 2021 campaign and continued its climb in all four national polls, reaching as high as No. 11 in the USA Today/NFCA Division I Top 25 Coaches Poll.

Eight ACC programs were ranked in the top 50 of the RPI while Florida State (No. 6), Duke (No. 9) and Virginia Tech (No. 10) were in the top 10. The other teams were No. 16 Clemson, No. 24 Notre Dame, No. 29 Virginia, No. 43 Louisville and No. 44 North Carolina.

Climbing three spots to No. 11 in the USA Today/NFCA Poll and two to No. 12 in the ESPN.com/USAÂ Softball Collegiate Top 25Â Poll, the Blue Devils are the highest ranked team in the ACC. Florida State (No. 12/13), Virginia Tech (No. 19/16) and Clemson (No. 20/21) were also featured in both polls.
Duke improved one spot in both D1Softball and Softball America to No. 16 and No. 18, respectively.

The Blue Devils went undefeated for the fourth straight week and earned its third conference sweep after a 4-0 weekend against Syracuse. Following a 7-3 victory in game three of the series, head coach
Marissa Young and the Blue Devils notched the program's 100th win.

Duke (24-21, 12-1 ACC) travels to No. 20 Clemson (20-2, 12-2) this weekend for a four-game series, March 26-28, at McWhorter Stadium. Games two and four will be featured on ACC Network.
