DURHAM, N.C. – Softball junior
Caroline Jacobsen has been selected Duke's PNC Achiever's Student-Athlete of the Week after helping lead the Blue Devils to a 4-0 ACC series sweep over Syracuse this past weekend.
The Tallahassee, Fla., native led the team at the plate, going 4-for-7 with a double, having two home runs and seven RBIs with a 1.571 slugging percentage. Jacobsen recorded five runs and drew four walks as she put together a .727 on base percentage.
Jacobsen's strongest appearance came in game three of the Syracuse series as the right fielder went 2-for-3 with two home runs and five RBIs. Reaching base in all five games last week, Jacobsen has now reached base at least once in the last 10 games.
The political science and psychology double major has recorded all four of her home runs from the past two ACC series against Virginia and Syracuse.
Duke (24-1) will be on the road this weekend at Clemson (20-2) for a four-game series starting Friday, March 26.
