GREENSBORO, N.C. – Duke opened the 2021 Men's ACC Swimming & Diving Championships on Wednesday with two relay races at the Greensboro Aquatic Center in Greensboro, N.C.
The four-day championships kicked off with two events, the 200 medley relay and the 800 freestyle relay.
Duke begins the week in seventh place as the Duke men's diving team secured 72 points during the ACC Diving Championships last week. Freshman
Seamus Harding Jr. led the Blue Devils with 45 points, including his sixth-place finish in platform diving.
In the first swimming event of the meet, the 200 medley relay, Duke's quartet of freshman

Cole Reznick, sophomore
Charlie Gingrich and junior
Matthew Whelan touched the wall in 1:25.41. Their time was the third-fastest time in Duke history and placed ninth in the event.

Nick Talati represented the Blue Devils in the 800 freestyle relay. The group's time of 6:26.95 placed ninth in the event. Their time was the fifth-fastest time in program lore.
The Blue Devils will next compete in the 500 freestyle, 200 individual medley, 50 freestyle and 200 freestyle relay on Thursday at the Championships. Preliminaries begin at 10 a.m. while the evening action will begin at 6 p.m., at the GAC in Greensboro, N.C.
