DURHAM – The Duke men's and women's cross country teams head to Louisville, Ky., on Friday for the 2021 NCAA Southeast Regional, hosted by the University of Kentucky, at the E.P. "Tom" Sawyer State Park.
The day's meets begin with the women's 6K race at 11 a.m., followed by the men's 10K event at noon. Live results will be available

A Look Back at the 2019 NCAA Southeast Regional:
- The Blue Devils had a strong showing at the 2019 regional, as the men's team earned its best finish as a team since 2015 after placing sixth, while the women raced to a fifth-place team finish.
- The men tallied 198 points behind Virginia, Virginia Tech, N.C. State, Furman and Charlotte and registered personal-best performances from five of the seven runners.
- The women tallied 154 team points behind N.C. State, Furman, Virginia Tech and Wake Forest.
- Michaela Reinhart, Sara Platek and CJ Ambrosio earned All-Region honors, as the trio finished 11th, 18th and 24th in their respective races.
Last Time Out/What to Watch For:
- The Blue Devils will compete amongst a field of 33 (men) and 31 (women) teams.
- Duke most recently competed in the ACC Cross Country Championships, with the men finishing seventh and the women ninth among the field of 15 teams.
- Graduate student Reinhart, sophomore Charlotte Tomkinson and graduate student Josh Romine earned All-ACC honors to pace the Blue Devils.
- Reinhart finished first for Duke for the fifth consecutive year, clocking in at 20:45.1 to take 14th overall. Tomkinson finished just two spots behind in 16th with a clocking of 20:46.2 to earn her first all-ACC honor. Senior Clara Savchik, freshman Katie Hamilton and senior Elizabeth Reneau rounded out the top-five finishers for the Blue Devil women.
- Graduate student Romine earned the top spot among the Duke men, finishing 21st overall at 24:16.5. After sitting at 30th at the 6K split, Romine finished strong and jumped up nine spots over the final two kilometers to earn his first career All-ACC selection. Graduate student Nick Dahl wasn't too far behind, checking in at 24:21.8 to finish in 27th.
- Juniors Sam Rivera and Owen MacKenzie, along with graduate students Michael Ungvarsky and Ambrosio were the other Duke runners to finish in the top-50. Rivera and MacKenzie finished back-to-back in 38th (24:28.2) and 39th (24:28.5), with Ungvarsky finishing 41st with a time of 24:32.3 and Ambrosio taking 46th at 24:36.2.
- Both Duke cross country teams own top rankings in the USTFCCCA Southeast Regional rankings. The men enter the weekend holding the fifth spot in the poll while the women's team sits at No. 8.
- The Blue Devils have beaten several teams ranked ahead of them during their respective meets, including then-ranked No. 17 Wake Forest, No. 25 Weber State and No. 30 Charlotte (men), along with No. 22 Connecticut, Syracuse, and Boston College (women).
