MADISON, Wisc. – Graduate student
Stephanie Moss's top-25 finish in the women's 6K Championship headlined a day of racing for Duke cross country at the Nuttycombe Invitational.
The Blue Devil women totaled 413 points and placed 17th overall, while the Duke men took 29th with 753 points.
TOP PERFORMANCES:
- Moss paced the Duke women for the second consecutive meet, turning in a time of 20:22.0 en route to placing 25th amid a loaded women's 6K Championship field. Graduate student Jette Beermann and freshman Victoria Garces were the next to finish for the Blue Devils, clocking in at 20.52.1 (67th) and 20:54.7 (73rd), respectively.
- Graduate students Poppy Craig-McFeely and Lucca Fulkerson rounded out the top-five performers for Duke. Fulkerson hit the tape in 21:20.1 and Craig-McFeely finished shortly thereafter with a time of 21:23.3.
- The men's 8K Championship saw Charlie Siebert lead the efforts for the Blue Devil men, with the upperclassman turning in a mark of 24:32.5. Sophomore Luke Thompson had a strong close to his race and finished in 24:56.8, with classmate Matt Ryan (25:04.7), senior Nick Falk (25:06.1) and graduate student Declan McDonnell (25:21.2) rounding out the quintet.
- Duke also featured a small cohort of runners competing in the 'B' races of the men's 8K and women's 6K, respectively, with the performances highlighted by 18th-place finishes by sophomore Anna Callahan (21:44.2) and junior Rendon Kuykendall (24:44.4).

UP NEXT:
Duke turns its attention to postseason competition, starting with the ACC Cross Country Championships in Louisville, Kentucky. The meet will take place Oct. 31 at Sawyer State Park.
