GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Duke women's swimming and diving program and men's diving team kicked off the 2020 ACC Swimming and Diving Championships on Wednesday at the Greensboro Aquatics Center in Greensboro, N.C.
After the first day of competition, the women are in fifth place with 130 points.
Duke opened the evening finals with a school record swim in the women's 200 medley relay.

Alyssa Marsh and
Sarah Snyder clocked a 1:35.93 to break the record, previously set by the same quartet against North Carolina on earlier this year on Feb. 1. Today's performance was also Duke's first NCAA 'A' cut time of the season, earning automatic qualification to the NCAA Championships in March.
In the second relay of the night, the women's 800 freestyle relay team comprised of
Melissa Pish,
Easop Lee, Quinn Scannell and
Kylie Jordan swam a season best and the fifth-fastest time in Duke history (7:11.17) to finish sixth in the event.
Nathaniel Hernandez finished fourth in the men's three-meter diving finals with a score of 382.65. It was Hernandez's best career finish on the three-meter boards at the ACC Championships.
The Blue Devils will next compete in the men's one-meter diving final and the women's three-meter diving, 500 freestyle, 200 individual medley, 50 freestyle and 200 freestyle relay on Thursday at the championships. The evening action will begin at 5 p.m., at the GAC in Greensboro, N.C.
