DURHAM, N.C. – Duke field hockey is headed to Virginia Beach, Va. to play an ACC contest against Syracuse on Saturday, Oct. 10. The game is slated for a 4 p.m. start at the Virginia Beach Sportsplex.

Following a postponement between the two teams during opening weekend, the Blue Devils (0-3) and Orange (0-2) will meet for the ninth time in program history. The teams were originally scheduled for a pair of games on Friday, Sept. 18 and Sunday, Sept. 20 at J.S. Coyne Stadium in Syracuse, N.Y.Â

HISTORY WITH SYRACUSE
Dating back to the first meeting in 2013, Syracuse holds a 6-2 lead over Duke in the all-time series. Last season, the Orange edged the Blue Devils in double overtime with a 2-1 win in Durham. The Blue Devils' two wins have come in the past three games, picking up victories in 2017 and 2018. Duke and Syracuse have played one neutral site game, meeting up in the ACC Quarterfinals in 2018 where the Blue Devils pulled away with a 4-1 feat.

SCOUTING THE ORANGE
The Orange played its first games of the 2020 season last weekend, falling 0-2 to Virginia in Charlottesville, Va. Syracuse dropped the Friday game, 1-0, and fell short in double overtime on Sunday with a 3-2 loss. Head coach Ange Bradley's squad was predicted to finish sixth in the league while two of her players were named to the Preseason All-ACC Team in sophomore Charlotte de Vries and junior Laura Graziosi. In 2019, the Orange put together a 12-7 overall record while earning a 3-3 mark in conference action and a trip to the NCAA Tournament.

Boston College announced the postponement of its next five games on Thursday, Oct. 8, including Friday's home contest on Williams Field at Jack Katz Stadium on Oct. 16. Duke's next contest will be at North Carolina on Sunday, Oct. 18. The matchup is set to begin at 1 p.m. and will be available to watch on ACCNX.Â
