DURHAM, N.C. – Duke field hockey is set to play two games against Wake Forest this weekend, beginning with an ACC contest on Friday, Oct. 23 in Winston-Salem and a non-conference matchup on Sunday, Oct. 25 at home.

HISTORY WITH THE DEMON DEACONS
Friday's contest will be the 77th meeting between Duke and Wake Forest as the Blue Devils lead the all-time series, 43-33. Duke is 13-17 when playing at Kentner Stadium and 20-11 when playing at Williams Field at Jack Katz Stadium.

SCOUTING WAKE FOREST
Wake Forest enters the weekend with a 1-5 overall record and an 0-3 mark in ACC action. The Demon Deacons' only win of the season came at Virginia Sept. 26 as they topped the Cavaliers, 2-1. The 2020 campaign marks head coach Jennifer Averill's 29th season at Wake Forest. She returned 13 players from last year's squad, including the top-three goal scorers.

DUKE DROPS OVERTIME BATTLE AT NORTH CAROLINA
Despite a two-goal comeback to force overtime, Duke dropped a hard-fought battle at North Carolina, 5-4, on Sunday afternoon. The Blue Devils saw goals from sophomore

After the Tar Heels took a 4-2 lead in the 47th minute, Crouse scored less than a minute later off a penalty corner. With 10 seconds left in regulation, Duke earned a penalty stroke and Davidson buried it to tie the game. The Blue Devils saw an early chance in overtime, but North Carolina capitalized on a Duke yellow card and scored in the 65th minute to win.

Sunday's game was the first time Duke vs. North Carolina has gone into overtime since Nov. 6, 2014.
