Last Time Out
- Will Pulisic was outstanding with eight saves, but it wasn't enough as then No. 22 SMU found a way to score twice and hold Duke scoreless for the 2-0 win at Koskinen Stadium.
- Pulisic matched his career high in saves, which included a stop on a penalty kick, as Duke sacrificed multiple goals for the second straight game. The Blue Devils nearly tied it in the second half, however an SMU goal against the run of play was enough to ice the victory for the Mustangs.
Â
Breaking Down the Blue Devils
- Duke looks to regain its winning ways after a pair of setbacks to Virginia and SMU. The Blue Devils dropped to No. 15 in the coaches' poll this week as they embark on a two-game road swing.
- Senior Daniele Proch is living up to the preseason hype, scoring five goals and an assist in six games. Classmate Max Moser has been lethal off the bench recently and has four assists overall. In all, six different Duke players have a goal this season.
- Defensively, Duke started the season with shutouts in three of the first four games before allowing five goals in the past two games combined.  Sergi Nus is the anchor at center back, while Ian Murphy and Hassan Pinto have manned the flanks the past three games. In goal, Will Pulisic has an ACC-best 20 saves and a 1.00 goals against average.
Â
Series History
- Duke and Clemson meet for the 57th time overall and for the first time since 2017. The Blue Devils have a narrow edge with a 26-25-5 record, but the Tigers own the past three victories. Clemson is 14-9-2 on its home field against Duke with the last Blue Devil road win at Historic Riggs field coming in 2013.
