DURHAM, N.C. – The Duke rowing team begins the 2019 fall campaign at the 55th Head of the Charles in Boston, Mass., on the Charles River this Saturday at 2 p.m.
Five freshmen will begin their Duke rowing careers Saturday, including Ginger Del Real, Alice Elworthy, Emilie Lijesen, Lauren Sizemore and Caeley Tierney. The five will compete in the club 4+ race.
"There is something electric about the Head of the Charles and the energy that surrounds rowing this weekend in Boston," said assistant coach Kendall Schmidt. "The team has put in a lot of solid training racing internally this fall and it will be fun for our freshman 4+ to race in their Duke uniforms for the first time and represent the entire team back home."
