DURHAM, N.C. – For the first time in program history, Duke rowing received the Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association (CRCA) National Staff of the Year recognition.
Head coach Megan Cooke Carcagno, assistant coach/recruiting director Chuck Rodosky and assistant coach Chase Graham, in their first years with the program, took the Blue Devils to their first NCAA Championships appearance, as well as a second-place finish at the ACC Championship.
The awards are voted on by the membership of the CRCA and are intended to staffs that have had a significant impact on the performance of their team, have shown outstanding commitment to their coach and demonstrated a high level of professionalism and integrity.
The latest award completes a record-breaking year for Cooke Carcagno as she was named the
CRCA Region 3 Coach of the Year as well as ACC Coach of the Year.
Cooke Carcagno, Rodosky and Graham were also named the CRCA Region 3 Staff of the Year.
The trio of coaches helped the 2V8 and V4 to C Finals titles, and 13th place, at the NCAA Championships while the V8 earned 18th place. In its first NCAA event, Duke finished 17th. The Blue Devils entered the event with their highest CRCA ranking in program history at No. 12.
