The Duke record holder indoors at 800 (2:08.39) and 1,000 meters (2:50.38), and the 1-mile run (4:43.34, NCAA Automatic Qualifier), Atlas was also a member of the indoor record 4x800 meter and distance medley relay teams. Atlas extended her effective range up to 6,000 meters in cross country where she has twice made NCAA appearances with the Duke team. Outdoors Atlas is No. 2 all-time at 800 (2:07.26) and 1,500 meters (4:24.17), placing 2nd in the 1,500 at the 2001 ECAC Championships. Her silver medal in that race earned her All-East honors for the fifth time in her career, and included a win over NCAA indoor 3,000 champion Shannon Smith of Boston College. It was in Boston where Atlas ran to her biggest victory, a 4:43.34 indoor mile win at the Terrier Classic. Atlas has run some fast relay legs, including a 2:05.7 on the school record distance medley of 11:11.81 and a 2:06.4 anchor 800 meter split on the school record sprint medley of 3:55.57.
