Forty Blue Devils Earn Bids to NCAA East Regional

DURHAM, N.C. – The NCAA unveiled Thursday afternoon the full list of qualifiers for the regional rounds with 40 Blue Devils earning bids to the NCAA East Regional. The four-day meet, hosted by the University of Kentucky, will be contested May 27-30 at the UK Outdoor Track & Field Complex in Lexington, Kentucky.

The 40 selections to the NCAA East Regional are the most by the Blue Devils under the direction of A. Morris Williams, Jr. Track & Field Director Shawn Wilbourn, surpassing the previous high of 39 in 2024. Duke has produced at least 30 regional qualifiers in Wilbourn's six seasons at the helm, including four consecutive years with at least 35 – 2021 (33), 2022 (30), 2023 (38), 2024 (39), 2025 (36) and 2026 (40).

First-round competition features the top-48 declared student-athletes for each individual event, with the only exception being the top-24 times for relays and direct qualification for the top-24 performers in multi-events (heptathlon and decathlon). The top-12 competitors from each event in the East and West (Fayetteville, Arkansas) regionals, respectively, will advance to NCAA Outdoor Championships June 10-13 in Eugene, Oregon.

Five Blue Devils will enter the meet boasting top-10 marks in the NCAA East Regional: Braelyn Baker (4th – 400m), Andres Langston (3rd – 400mH), Lauren Tolbert (3rd – 800m), Christian Toro (4th – hammer throw) and Gemma Tutton (3rd – pole vault). The women's 4x400 and 4x100 also check in at No. 8 in the East region.
